Oceana first launched in February 2000 as Ocean Princess for Princess Cruise Lines, later in November 2002 she joined P&O cruises and was re launched in May 2003 after undergoing a refit. Oceana initially cost $300million to build and weighs in at 77,000 tons making it a medium to large sized ship by modern standards. The naming ceremony for Oceana was performed by HRH The Princess Royal.
Typically Oceana cruises have up to 2,016 passengers travelling in 1008 cabins. The cabins range from 158 square feet up to 610 square feet. Oceana Cruises cater for families, so is suitable for people of all ages and is excellent value for money. She consists of a total of 11 decks and is 856 feet in length.
News, P&O Cruises have announced a change to their smoking policy and each ship will have one dedicated internal public space for smoking.
They will still allow smokin in cabins and balconies on Arcadia , Artemis, Aurora and Oriana, while smoking is not permitted in any cabins onboard Oceana or Ventura, but is allowed on the balconies.
